I just love my tea friends. They have some of the best ideas especially when pertaining to tea. The other day Sara Shacket of Tea Happiness, a representative from Teforia, and I were chatting about tea, naturally. The idea here was sparked by a Twitter post from post Sara. “Yada, Yada, Yada, here we are. If interested see our chat below.

Regardless, we decided it would be fun to pair some unique and interesting treats from Trader Joes with tea. Obviously I was up to the challenge. I started with this pairing as inspired by Sara. I promise there will be more to come.

Dill Pickle Popcorn from Trader Joes
Flavor: Literally smells and tastes like pickles. The smell reminds me of those old scratch and sniff pickle stickers from when I was a kid. I wish the popcorn itself wasn’t as dry or plain as it was. Perhaps a touch of popcorn butter could fix that. Overall, a delicious popcorn that lives true to its name.

Tea: River Shannon (Irish Breakfast) from Upton Tea
Flavor: When deciding what I should pair the popcorn with this particular tea was the first thing that popped into my mind. Of course I prepared this neat. I felt the brisk and bold flavor of this tea would pair perfectly with the bright and savory flavor of the popcorn and I was one hundred percentage spot on.
