Bulletproof Drinks

With New Years 2016 here and all our tearful goodbyes to 2015 have been spilled.  I have decided to start this New Year with the addition of a couple of recipes my dear friend Linsey of The NecessiTeas shared with me.  I am forever grateful as years ago I had attempted to make Bulletproof Coffee and failed miserably.  I couldn’t imagine why people were all in a frenzy over how amazing it was when all I thought I was having was an oil slick in my coffee.  The magic is in the blending.  The first time I stirred in the butter, didn’t use coconut oil, and went the way of James Bond…”Shaken not stirred.”  It appears that approach only works for well for vodka martini’s.

Shaken Not Stirred

Nevertheless, now that I found out the correct way to make it I have to say I absolutely love it.  As with most things I do I only reach for the best ingredients.  With those ingredients I made both a Bulletproof Coffee and the next day Bulletproof Tea.  Both are absolutely amazing. So creamy, cozy, flavorful, and truly decadent.  They both bring out the best flavors in the coffee and tea.  Though I could not have this everyday, it is just too heavy for my tummy to handle I will likely have it once a week.   I recommend drinking them slow not only to savor the flavor but also to give your stomach a chance to digest and process all the fats you’re consuming.

It is my good intention to bring more interesting and potentially healthy drink and food recipes to you this coming year.  Often times I create and share my own recipes.  Although this year I may share those from others with possible variations as well.
