Tea Review: Berry Rooibos from EPI Tea

Thank you again EPI Tea for sending along this little gem for me to sample and review.

Berry Rooibos – #2 of 4

Tea: Berry Rooibos (Rooibos Tisane) – Pyramid Bag

Steep Time: 10 mins (As Recommended)

Water: 6 oz at 208F

Review:  I found this cup to be spot on.  Just that right amount of berry flavor without the fear of being overly tart.  As most of you know I don’t generally put in additional additives into my tea with the obvious exception of chai.  Happily, I have made no exception here, keeping in mind  I often feel temped to add either raw honey or agave to my rooibos.  I only take the leap on those rare occasions where the rooibos blend is far too tart and needs a little something to help soften the blow.  Point being, I am very pleased that nor did I take the leap and add sweetener but even more importantly I had no desire.  Always a plus if you ask me.

Bottom line, a solid brew.  It was playfully fruity and had just the right amount of earthy sweetness with a bit of a sweet sparkle as well.  A lovely balanced cup.  Had I more to play with I would have certainly made this using the “cold brew method.”  Never know I  may consider more in the future and if I do I will be sure to let you know how it turns out.
